If possible, clean the interior of the vehicle with a vacuum cleaner beforehand. Place the removable extension tube over the aerosol and treat your air conditioning heating system from inside and outside the vehicle.
From outside the vehicle: with the engine running, put the fan onto the maximum setting while taking in outside air. Open the windows to ventilate the passenger compartment, then set the air conditioning to the coldest setting. Locate the area where outside air is drawn in by the air conditioning (usually at the bottom of the windscreen). Shake the aerosol can, then direct the extension tube to the system’s air inlet. Spray 4 to 5 times in short 5-second bursts. Turn off the engine, air conditioning and fan. Allow it to act for 15 minutes. Reinstall a new passenger compartment filter if necessary.
From inside the vehicle: with the engine and fan turned off, insert the extension tube into all the air vents as far as possible (except for the centre duct of the dashboard to avoid any risk of damage to the electronic systems). Spray in short 5-seconds bursts, while taking care to treat the entire length of the pipes. Allow it to act for at least 15 minutes before turning the air conditioning on again.
Repeat the treatment at least once a year or as soon as bad odours appear. If bad odours persist, have the air conditioning checked by a specialist.
